MADADENI High Court sentenced Thamsanqa William Dlamini, aged 42, to life imprisonment and an additional 20 years on several charges of rape, on September 16.

Lieutenant Colonel Shooz Magudulela of KwaZulu-Natal SAPS Corporate Communications said the perpetrator had raped three women between the ages of 17 and 27 between 2005 and 2009.
“In May 2005, he was sentenced to 10 years for raping a 17-year-old teenager in Masson Road. In September that year, he threatened a 20-year-old victim with a knife, and then raped her in a veld. He was caught and was sentenced to an additional 10 years’ imprisonment.”
In May 2009, the perpetrator held a 27-year-old woman at gunpoint, dragged her to his vehicle and proceeded to raped her.
“Vryheid Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit worked tirelessly to keep the man behind bars,” he said.
