Time Trials – Vasanthee’s great walk
Suheshan set a new personal best in the 2km boys run event.
2km Walk Ladies: Vasanthee Naicker finished in a time of 16m32s followed by Lani van der Mescht – 17m59s and Kuyler Edith in third – 18m26s. Ragani Soobramoney finished fourth – 20m35s followed by Luzanne van der Mescht – 21m32s.
2km Walk Men: Ivan Naidoo – 17m42s finished ahead of Yogan Soobramoney – 20m35s.
2km Boys Run: Suheshan Soobramoney set a new personal best in a time of 11m22s.
4km Ladies Run: Jayrushka Massallia – 23m06s edged out Thobeka Phungula 23m32s.
4km Mens Run: Bongani Sabelo – 23m32s.
Vasanthee dominated the 2km ladies walk event in a winning time. Ivan bounced back in the 2km Mens Walk event, returning after a long layoff. Suheshan set a new personal best in the 2km boys run event. ‘Miss Consistent’ Jayrushka ran a perfectly timed race to win the ladies 4km run event.
