Bicycle crashes into back of stationary car

ER24 paramedics responded to the scene and treated the injured cyclist

A cyclist crashed into the back of a car yesterday afternoon (January 28) in Calcutta Road near AK’s OK Grocer.

It is alleged that a motorist stopped at the side of the road to give an elderly man a lift when he suddenly heard a loud bang behind him.

The motorist looked back to see what the noise had been, and was shocked to find that a young cyclist had crashed into his car.

ER24 paramedics responded and treated the injured youngster in a nearby parking lot.

The cyclist, who sustained cuts and bruises, was stabilised and then transported to hospital for further treatment.

Public Safety also responded and cleared the scene.
