URGENT WARNING: Criminals posing as building inspectors

Technical Services director, Vasan Chetty, cautioned that the municipality had not sent any building inspectors out to residences and asked that members of the community contact the police immediately if the trio is spotted.

Vryheid residents are warned to be wary of people posing as building inspectors from the AbaQulusi municipality, and urged not to allow these people onto their property.

Numerous reports were received by the municipality’s Technical Service’s Department today, of a woman and two men asking residents to allow them onto their properties to inspect the building.

Technical Services director, Vasan Chetty, cautioned that the municipality had not sent any building inspectors out to residences and asked that members of the community contact the police immediately if the trio is spotted.

According to reports, the imposters are travelling in a vehicle with NE registration plates, however no further details of the vehicle were provided.
