Woman (84) attacked, raped in her home

The traumatised woman called her neighbours for assistance

An 84-year-old woman was raped while she was alone at her home in Annievale, Dannhauser area, on Saturday evening. Dannhauser police said she asleep shortly before 9pm when she heard an intruder entering her house.

He threatened to kill her if she called for help. He raped her and later demanded money.
When she replied she did not have any money, the rapist wanted to know the whereabouts of her grandson.
She said that she does not know. The man then left the house.

The traumatised woman called her neighbours for assistance and she was taken to the local clinic and then transferred to Madadeni Crises Centre.
A police investigation is continuing.
