Trio arrested for theft and break-ins

The first arrest was related to a housebreak-in and theft at a high school during late January this year

The Estcourt Detective Service made breakthrough arrests during a ‘suspect raid operation’ held recently.

Three people were arrested on February 7, and they are believed to be involved in cases involving break-ins and theft.

“The first arrest was related to a housebreak-in and theft at a high school during late January this year. During the arrest computer equipment and other items were recovered,” explained police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig.

A 21-year-old suspect was arrested and faces charges of house break-in and theft. He appeared briefly in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on February 9 and the case was remanded to February 17.

Police made further arrests when two suspects, aged 25, were arrested for a case of theft out of a motor vehicle that was reported on January 31.

The pair appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on February 9 and the matter was remanded to February 16.

“Police will also look further into the possibility that the three may be involved in other similar cases in the area,” added Captain Struwig.
