Update: 46-year-old statutory rape suspect appears in court

The case was remanded to March 22 for further investigation

The 46-year-old suspect who has been charged with abduction and having sex with a minor (statutory rape) appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Clean-shaven and dressed in formal attire, the suspect stood in the ‘box’ before the magistrate in B-court.

The accused was represented by Advocate K Augustine.
