10 stolen cattle and one slaughtered animal were recovered during a stock theft operation carried out from Tuesday, February 14, until Thursday, February 16.
The operation was conducted by police officers from the Uthukela Cluster, together with the SANDF, in the Upper Tugela area, where the South African and Lesotho borders lie high in the Drakensberg mountains.

Police and SANDF officials spent the three days tracking stolen cattle. Once the cattle were located, cattle owners who had recently lost their animals to theft were brought in to identify and claim their stock.
During the operation, 10 cattle valued at R80,000 and one slaughtered beast valued at R8000 were recovered.
