The duo were arrested in the Mhlwazini area of Bergville in the early hours of this morning.

Visible policing officers secured valuable information and rushed out to the area, where they located and arrested the suspects.

The drugs weigh 143kg, with a street value of over R150,000.

The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa, warned drug peddlers that they should expect police to pounce on them at any time, irrespective of where they are hiding.

“These drugs are destroying our future leaders and we will therefore do everything within our control to remove them from our streets and from within our societies. We call on parents to play a greater role in keeping their children away from the temptation of experimenting with drugs,” he said.
