Burglaries are continuing to plague homeowners and businesses with even the MTN tower on Mpati hill falling victim to crime.
A door was forced open and 16 lead batteries, valued at R96 000, stolen from the tower.
Goods valued at over R16 000 were taken from a house on Beaconsfield Street that was broken in last month.
Two laptops, two flat-screen television sets, a camera and two takkies were among the items taken.
A sewing machine, a coffee maker, toaster and a sofa cover, valued at R7 000, were taken when thieves broke into a house in Sibongile.
No arrests have been made in any of these cases. Captain V Mbense of the Dundee SAPS urged residents not to be tempted into buying stolen goods ‘at bargain prices’.
“Rather contact the police should you be approached to buy appliances for a cheap price,” he said.
