The Hyundai that was stolen yesterday morning (February 28) in Saffa Street was recovered in the afternoon between Colenso and Winterton.
The suspect left Ladysmith after stealing the vehicle and drove along a gravel road between Colenso and Winterton, where he crashed and rolled the vehicle.

A farmer from the area stopped to assist at the crash scene and was promptly hijacked by the suspect. The hijacker drove to Winterton in the farmer’s Toyota bakkie.
In Winterton, the suspect was stopped by Winterton farmers and security personnel from the town.
He was arrested by police and the stolen Toyota bakkie was recovered. The Hyundai was recovered at the crash scene.
