Suspect caught and arrested at Taxi City for possession of CAT

Police investigations continue.

TAXI CITY – Members of the Newcastle Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 53-year-old man for being in the possession of methcathinone (CAT), at the Newcastle Taxi Rank on February 8.

Allegedly, police were conducting a stop-and-search operation when they caught the suspect carrying 13 plastic wraps containing the drug.

The suspect appeared in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court on February 9.

Police investigations continue.
