A 32-year-old man will make an appearance in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court early next week after he was arrested by officers from the Ladysmith Visible Policing Unit in the early hours of Thursday morning (March 2).
The suspect was walking in the Hospital Park area, wearing a balaclava. Officers surprised him during their patrol.

The suspect fled on seeing the patrol vehicle, but he was no match for the officers, who chased and arrested him.
He was found to be carrying two knives at the time. He faces a charge of being in possession of dangerous weapons.
The suspect is being profiled and it is possible that he may be linked to robberies in the area.
