Centenary Road is a nightmare for motorists these days due to roadworks that have been ongoing since last year.
Motorists and businesses have had to endure the poor state of the road for many months now.
Residents are questioning the competency and the quality of work being carried out by the contractor assigned to repair the road.
Parts of the road have been tarred. “However, you see contract workers digging up portions of the road in an attempt to fix up past mistakes. This begs the question as to whether they are qualified to do the job in the first place?” fumed a resident.
“Why are they making more work for themselves? Do they have a qualified workforce to complete the job? Do they have skilled workers who know what they are doing?” are some of the questions being asked.
The contractor started to repair the road late last year, and it is still not complete.
Aside from the roadworks, the dust is terrible.
People are battling to drive on this road and say it is an accident waiting to happen.
“It shouldn’t take so long to fix a road! This is one of the main roads that we use to get to work and to school, not forgetting that it’s one of the busiest roads,” said a frustrated motorist.
“Every day there are workers on the road busy working, but we don’t see any results,” added the motorist.
