Warning: Bogus water meter readers going around Ladysmith

These potential criminals are in full municipal uniform

uThukela District Municipality has learned that there is a group of people roaming around the Ladysmith area, pretending to be meter readers.

They are in full municipal uniform.

When asked by an occupant of one particular household of their particulars, it is said that they simply ran away.

The community is urged to be on high alert and vigilant, as these people could well be potential criminals.

uThukela District Municipality would like to inform the public that their meter readers can be identified by their name tags at the top of the uniform.

If a person is not wearing a name tag, the owner or occupant of the house has a right to refuse them entry.

The public is also encouraged to report any suspicious activity in their area to the police.
