Water gushes out of burst pipe like an erupting volcano in Ladysmith

Motorists are urged to be careful when driving in Shepstone Road, as the road surface is wet and slippery

A major burst pipe in Shepstone Road has residents and motorists astonished at how much water is gushing out. “It’s like an erupting volcano, except that it’s water and not molten lava running down the road,” commented one resident.

Residents are wondering why uThukela has not come out, as clean water is being wasted by the gallon.

The “water volcano” is right next to a construction site and it is alleged that the construction crew working nearby somehow caused the burst.

At the time of going to press, uThukela had not responded to fix the pipe.
