Burglaries are on the rise at Sibongile and Lindelani locations.
On Saturday a house was broken into on Reynolds Street, Strathmore Park. The owner had been gone for just 30 minutes and when they came back the house was cleaned out.
There were two more burglaries on Saturday, one in the Mpati region and the other in Friis Street and in all three houses, wall safes were taken out of their bedrooms.
People are advised to be more vigilant as perpetrators tend to ring your door bell claiming to be a neighbour asking for help.
Card-skimming is sky high as we are reaching month-end. One’s bank card gets stuck in the ATM. Minutes after that the victim gets an sms of cash withdrawn. The community is asked to not accept any help in the ATM facility unless its from the bank tellers or security guide.
Also do not tell anyone your pin. Block the keypad with your hands as you enter your pin so that no one has access to it.
