A man was brutally assaulted on Thursday (June 22) in Alexandra Street after an altercation with a shop owner.
It is alleged that the shop owner attacked the man in the street, hitting him on the head with a metal pipe.
The parties involved have since informed police that they wish to resolve the matter themselves and have opted not to open any cases at this time.

Police and Public Safety responded at the time of the attack, and curious bystanders gathered around to see what was going on.
Traffic flow in the area was slightly obstructed due to all the people milling around.
