PUBLIC NOTICE: Meeting to discuss protest against high municipal bills

Fred van Dyk has pleaded with the community for support, in his quest to protest against high municipal bills.

Those who are fuming over rates bills this month, take note.

Fred van Dyk has requested affected and concerned residents to attend a public meeting tomorrow evening (Thursday, June 29).

The meeting is set for 6pm at the BJ Driving School offices on 2 Ayliff Street.

Van Dyk is spearheading action in protest of high rates bills this month, and urged residents to not be accepting of so-called ridiculous increases.

“I work hard for my money so why should the municipality just take it from me? Whether it’s R1 or R1 000, it’s not right.”

Van Dyk’s recent post to Facebook elicited more than 100 comments from irate locals, who he described as ‘gatvol’.

He pledged to follow official routes to organise protest action.

“The municipality needs to be informed that the community isn’t happy.”

For more details, attend the meeting tomorrow night or contact Van Dyk at BJ Driving School.
