The owner of Silverton Radiators , Mr Pieter Bezuidenhout, claims that the leak is caused by a blockage in the main pipeline that runs in Lyell Street.

“We have tried numerous times to contact the municipality (uThukela) and all they ever told us was that both their TLBs were broken, so they could not come and dig and solve the problem,” said Mr Bezuidenhout.

He added that this inconveniences his business, as customers are disgusted by the sight and smell of the sewer leak.

Mr Bezuidenhout says the municipality has turned a blind eye and has failed to recognise them as a business in Ladysmith.
