People living in Burma Road are complaining about the lack of speed humps in the street.
A child was recently hit by a vehicle, sustaining head injuries. Residents say this is a serious matter as this is an area that has not one but TWO schools, yet there are no speed humps at all. People living in the area are afraid that another child might get knocked down and this time it might be fatal.
According to residents, motorists speed along the road at different times of the day, without taking into consideration that this is in fact a school and residential area.
“I cannot say for sure that the driver who hit the child was in fact speeding. However, we did hear a very loud bang and the sound of the car screeching before the impact,” recounted a concerned resident.
Queries have previously been made with regards to having speed humps erected, before the child was knocked down, yet nothing has been done about the issue.
