
A 32-year-old man appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, August 8, for the attempted murder of his girlfriend, who is also 32 years old.
Police responded to a complaint that a man was seen brandishing a firearm in the Gcinusizi area of Ntabamhlope.
They rushed to the scene to find that the man had shot and injured his girlfriend. She was shot in the arm.

Police went in search of the suspect, whom they quickly traced and arrested.
The firearm that was used in the shooting was recovered by the officers, and was found to be unlicensed.
The suspect faces charges of attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and unlicensed ammunition.
