KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane has commented on the farm attack that took place in the Winterton area yesterday morning (August 21).
Lt Col Zwane said the farmer and his employees discovered that the lock on the cattle kraal had been cut.
He added that while they were investigating the broken lock, an unknown man emerged and allegedly shot at the farmer, wounding him.

The farmer managed to retaliate and the suspect was fatally wounded.
The farmer is in a stable condition in hospital.
A case of attempted murder and an inquest docket will be opened at Winterton police station for investigation.
