MUST READ: Marconi Drive is now riddled with potholes

The motorist explained she had reported the matter on several occasions, but to no avail.

Marconi Drive, Riverside Industria, has become a source of concern, with potholes making sections of the road undrivable.

“The road has deteriorated over the years, and whenever you contact the municipality, you never hear back from the relevant departments,” complained one motorist.

Requesting to remain anonymous, the resident explained she used the road on a regular basis in order to get to her place of employment.

“In some places, I am forced to drive on the wrong side of the road to avoid damaging my car.”

Two of her colleagues sustained damage to their vehicles due to the potholes in the road.

“One of my colleagues had to replace his entire wheel after hitting a pothole, while one of the other women who works with me has a lot of issues with her car due to the potholes.”

The motorist explained she had reported the matter on several occasions, but to no avail.

“Every time I call, I get told someone will be sent out to resolve the problem, but the pot holes are still there and it is getting worse. You cannot miss them, and our cars are being damaged.”

The municipality was contacted for comment, but no response was given at the time of going to print.
