Update: Bomb scare at local high school, police are investigating

Making bomb threats is a criminal offence and anyone caught doing so will face the full might of the law

A ‘bomb scare’ message was received pertaining to Ladysmith High School (LHS) yesterday afternoon (September 14).

Police were alerted. The learners were evacuated from the school and moved to the sports ground.

The area was cordoned off and searched by police, but nothing was found.

Police are currently busy with an investigation to trace the origin of the message.

The making of bomb threats is a criminal offence and anyone caught doing so will face the full might of the law.

The person/s involved may also face civil action to recover the losses police incurred in terms of the extensive time, manpower and physical resources spent on dealing with the bomb scare.
