Elandslaagte detectives are investigating an inquest docket after the body of an elderly man was discovered.
The incident took place in the Jononoskop area of Elandslaagte on Saturday morning, September 9.
It is alleged that the man was alone at the time, when smoke was seen coming out of the windows of his home.

Further investigation revealed that a mattress had caught alight in a bedroom of the house.
The deceased has not yet been identified.
