The Newcastle 911 CPF members proved once again their efficiency at protecting and serving the community.
September 14 – While patrolling the streets of Newcastle, members received a call about a robbery in progress on Murchison Street.
The suspects allegedly entered the premises through a hole in the fence. Newcastle 911 together with Newcastle SAPS attended to the call.
Unfortunately, the suspects fled the scene and are currently still at large. Police investigations continue.
September 15 – The CPF received a call informing them that a pedestrian had been knocked down by a vehicle in Madadeni Section 4.
SAPS and ambulance services were dispatched to the scene, and the pedestrian was transported to hospital to receive further medical treatment.
September 16 – Members received a call informing them of a collision on the Normandien Road, where a vehicle had collided with a cow at about 4pm.
Members as well as ambulance services were dispatched to the scene to assist the occupants of the vehicle.
September 16 – The CPF received a call at about 5.45pm regarding a cow which was roaming free on Victoria Street. Members were dispatched to the area and successfully returned the cow to its rightful owners.
September 16 – Members responded to a collision involving three vehicles near Madadeni. SAPS and ambulance services were dispatched to assist the scene. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
