PREVIEW: Are public toilets up to flushing?

Public toilets in the parking area off Voortrekker Street are in a vandalised state, according to the municipality.

The state of some public toilets in Newcastle is cause for concern.

Residents have come forward with complaints regarding the state of facilities in the CBD.

Complaints centre specifically on the block at the OK parking area (Voortrekker Street).

These toilets were reportedly closed from July until early August.

Inspection revealed the floors were sticky with grime, with pipes leaking.

The municipality has since provided a written response.
