MEMBERS of the Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch Committee met with AbaQulusi Mayor, Cllr Jerry Sibiya, last Thursday with a list of suggestions in place to uplift the community and improve the safety and security of all citizens of AbaQulusi.

Mayor Sibiya, who was happy to take time out of his busy schedule to meet with the committee, keenly acknowledged the suggestions, noting in detail each proposal and how AbaQulusi Municipality might offer their support.

Hopefully the first of many more productive meetings of this kind between Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch and AbaQulusi Municipality, the meeting concluded with several matters being handled, and a clear way forward being discussed for Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch, with the imminent backing and blessing of the municipality.

The Mayor congratulated them on their exemplary work in upholding the safety of the community and stated that their dedication and commitment to the upliftment of the community set a shining example, especially considering that their work is entirely voluntary.

Mayor Sibiya also confirmed that he would accept the invitation by Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch to attend their upcoming AGM on October 11 as a Guest Speaker for the event.
