23-year-old man shot in the neck just outside Ladysmith

The attacker produced a firearm and fired several shots in the direction of the group

A man was shot in the neck late Thursday afternoon (September 28) while herding cattle with family members.

It was about 5.30pm when a 23-year-old man was walking with family in the Roosboom area. They were in the process of herding cattle when they were approached by an unknown man.

The man produced a firearm and fired several shots in the direction of the group.

The 23-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was taken for medical treatment.

Ladysmith detectives are investigating a case of attempted murder.
