Monira, pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to culpable homicide

Monira Moothi (33), the women charged with the murder of her husband, Daniel Pires, will find out her fate today.

Monira and her cousin, Afzal Hassan, were charged with murder following the horror stabbing of Mr Pires on March 12 at their Schroeders Road home in Glencoe.

Monira, pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to culpable homicide, which Regional Court Magistrate, Ms Barnard, accepted.

The court withdrew charges against Mr Hassan.

Bail application postponed for murder accused

The court will deliver judgement later today, following mitigation of sentence.
