COMMUNITY: Mrs Africa finalist takes an active role to help charity

As part of her journey, Zwane adopted Ncandu Combined School where the sanitary pads will be distributed to school girls.

Mrs Africa 2017/18 Finalist, Zandile Zwane hosted an outdoor summer bootcamp on the Arbor Park Sport Grounds on Saturday, September 30.

Both young and old joined in the fun of getting fit while making a significant contribution to charity.

The fundraising event was aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged women and school girls by supplying them with washable sanitary pads.

As part of her journey, Zwane adopted Ncandu Combined School where the sanitary pads will be distributed to school girls.

Each pack costs R250.

“The reason why I chose this type of sanitary pad was because they have a four year guarantee, so girls won’t miss school because of their cycle,” she said.

The day was filled with various activities, such as an aerobics marathon, which included yoga, dance aerobics and a skipping competition.

Local fitness instructors, health promoters and dieticians were available to offer sound health advice.
