According to uThukela District Municipality spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza, they are currently experiencing an electrical problem at the Ezakheni Bulk Water Plant.
The main incoming high voltage line is on fire, so they have no electricity at the plant to start up the pumps.
Water shortages will be experienced in the Ithala Industrial Area, all sections of Ezakheni and “old Ladysmith”.
Water will only be restored once Eskom has attended to the electrical cables that have been damaged.
uThukela apologises for any inconvenience caused.
