Ladysmith rapist sentenced to 23 years behind bars

On the way to her home, he dragged her into some bushes and raped her at knife-point

On Wednesday, October 25, the Ladysmith Regional Court sentenced 35-year-old Maseveni Siphosakhe Nyathi to 23 years’ imprisonment for rape.

He was accused of raping a 22-year-old girl in March of last year in the Ladysmith CBD after pretending to be concerned for her safety and offering to walk her home.
