The Uthukela Cluster Task Team arrested four people over the weekend for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Two suspects, aged 21 and 28, appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court yesterday (November 6) on charges related to the possession of an unlicensed revolver and two rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The two suspects were arrested in two separate incidents in the Mqedondaba area of Amangwe on Sunday.
The youngest suspect was found in possession of ammunition, while the eldest was found in possession of the unlicensed revolver.
Two others, aged 21, were arrested in the Khethani and Emaswazini areas of Winterton.
One suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed 7.65mm pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition, while the second suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol and 13 rounds of ammunition.
These two suspects will appear in court today.
