The poisoning of pets has yet again become evident, with two dogs poisoned in the past week.
The incident occurred when a resident took to social media, expressing her horror when her dogs were poisoned.
While it was unclear who was responsible for the poisoning of the resident’s pets, one of the dogs survived, while the other unfortunately died.
Pieces of beef were allegedly found in the dog owner’s yard, which were speculated to have been laced with poison.
In a separate incident, a woman managed to rescue her beloved cat from poisoning.

She came home from work and found an open can of cat food lying in her yard.
As her landlord’s dogs were running about, the resident quickly snatched up the tin of cat food and discarded it before her cat and landlord’s dogs gained access to it.
Heather Gero of the SPCA was livid at the reports.
“It is disgusting that people do this. No reason is good enough to poison an animal!”
Describing poisoning as one of the most horrendous and painful ways to kill an animal, Gero said people needed to be careful how they used any type of poison.
“If you lay out poison to kill rats, the rat will run somewhere else before it dies.
“A cat, dog or bird could then find it, eat it and die. Secondary poisoning is a real danger.”
Those caught poisoning animals intentionally could be charged.
Gero encouraged pet owners to practice extreme caution.
“Avoid leaving your dogs outside where people can get to them easily.
“The mindset people have that dogs are meant as security must change, as this is what happens. Dogs are meant as companions.”
Gero urged residents to check for any foreign objects in their yards, whether sweet wrappers or other litter which might lure an animal.
“Also, if your dog has been poisoned, be sure to rush it to the vet immediately,” Gero concluded.
