A police officer was attacked and shot by armed robbers this evening (November 10) at Elandslaagte police station.
It is believed that two suspects entered the police station and attempted to rob the officer.
During the attack, the officer was shot in her leg and her firearm was stolen.
A third suspect was waiting in a vehicle near the station and the suspects fled the scene in the direction of Dundee.

Emergency personnel and police responded to the scene.
The injured officer was stabilised and then taken to hospital.
A massive manhunt is currently underway for the suspects, and police are investigating.
