Dannhauser SAPS is appealing to residents to come forward if they have any information regarding a rape which occurred at Madeleine Farm on November 19.
According to Dannhauser SAPS Corporate Communications Officer, Sargent M.L. Nyembe, the 67-year-old ‘gogo’ was asleep in her home at around 11.30pm, when an unknown suspect gained entry through forcing her door open.
The suspect allegedly dragged the victim from her bed to the floor.
He then proceeded to strangle her and repeatedly rape her, while continuously threatening to kill her.
“After he finished raping her, he told her he was going outside to look for rope in order to hang her. She then saw this as her opportunity to run and alert her neighbours for help.”
The suspect quickly fled the scene and is currently still at large.
Anyone with information pertaining to the suspect or his whereabouts are urged to contact the Dannhauser police on 034 621 6500.
