A 20-year-old woman and her friend were walking along in Ezakheni on Monday, November 20, when they were attacked by a group of three men. They were robbed of a cell-phone and shoes.
The woman was then raped by one of the suspects.
A case of rape and robbery was opened at Ezakheni police station.

Three days later (Thursday, November 23), Ezakheni SAPS, together with Crime Intelligence officers, arrested three suspects aged 16, 32 and 34.
One of the suspects was found in possession of a stolen cell-phone.
The three suspects appeared in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Monday, November 27), where they faced charges of robbery and rape.
Police are also investigating the possibility that the three may be involved in other cases of robbery which were committed in the Ezakheni policing area.
