The condition of local roads has made headlines all year round.
From sinkholes to potholes, deterioration of Newcastle’s streets is a very real concept.
In response, the municipality recently undertook a Road Patching and Pothole Repairs programme.
Officials hoped this would see damaged roads throughout Newcastle resealed.
This was reportedly ‘in response to measured deterioration in road condition’.
Now the Newcastle Advertiser is looking to the community to determine how bad local roads are.
We want you to be our temporary road inspectors.
Residents are invited to submit photographs or even just an email highlighting potholes, corrugation or other road damage in Newcastle.
Information and images will be used in an upcoming feature report this month.
Residents can make their submissions to newed2@caxton.co.za.
