Fairleigh residents are outraged as their houses are still falling apart.
Allegedly, nothing is being done to rectify the problem.
Residents claimed their home walls were cracking, window frames were falling out and paint was peeling off the walls.
Ceilings were also falling apart and were becoming a nesting ground for pests and rodents.
Fairleigh resident, Beryl Jacobs said despite never-ending complaints to the municipality, the houses were still not being repaired.
Jacobs claimed her family had no choice but to temporarily move out of their home due to safety fears.
“Nothing is being done about our houses! They are still falling apart and are too dangerous to live in, and we are scared the house might collapse on us while we are sleeping.”
Jacobs threatened that should the problem continue, she would go to the extreme measure of picketing outside the municipal building.
“I will arrange a ‘toi-toi’ and we will march in front of that building, and shut them down until they do something to help us! This is pathetic man!” she exclaimed.
