Behind bars for business robbery in Ladysmith

The case was recently finalised in the Ezakheni Regional Court

A robber was recently sentenced to 15 years behind bars for robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The incident took place during January last year, when a businessman was robbed at his business premises in Acaciavale. Cash, cell-phones and cosmetics were stolen.

During the investigation, two people were arrested by the investigating officer, Constable Kubheka of the Ladysmith Detective Service.

The case was recently finalised in the Ezakheni Regional Court, where one of the two accused was acquitted.

The other accused, 28-year-old Siyabonga Mteleku Duma, was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances.

He was also found unfit to possess a firearm.
