Burst pipe leaves parts of Vryheid waterless overnight

If you live in Vryheid, running water is not always a given and residents are hardly surprised anymore when waking up to find the taps are dry.

THE Oxford Dictionary defines ‘running water’ as “Water supplied for domestic use by means of a plumbing system, rather than having to be carried from an external source.”

If you live in Vryheid however, running water is not always a given and residents are hardly surprised anymore when waking up to find the taps are dry, even on the morning of Christmas Eve…

This morning was one such occasion where parts of Vryheid were left without running water following a burst pipe at the corner of Mark and Deputation Streets yesterday.

Reports came flooding in about water flowing from hydrants in the area, but it was confirmed that the hydrants were opened to bring the water pressure down to allow for the pipe to be fixed.
