Robbery
A man was robbed of his cellphone and an estimated amount of R6 020 in broad daylight near Thusi Street, Dundee.
The community is advised to be vigilant at all times as robberies are on the rise.
Fraud
ATM scammers were also out in force during the holidays and tricked a victim out of R3 000 at the Capitec ATM on Willson Street on Saturday morning. A case has been opened and no arrest has been made.
Assualt
A resident on Smith Street was assaulted on January 5 at 2pm. A man who resides in Newcastle struck the victim with a chair. A case has been opened.
Shoplifters on the prowl
An Apple iPhone, and other goods, valued at R29 800 was stolen from the CNA, at the Boulevard Centre.
On Saturday, January 6, a shoplifter at Shoprite stole food, deodorant and a toothbrush valued at R103.62. A case has been opened.
Car theft
A motor vehicle (Ford Laser) was stolen on January 6 late at night between 11pm and 2am at 29A Cornhill Street. No arrests have been made.
Malicious damage
A case of malicious damage has been opened at Sibongile Ex 19, house number 3391, where a door was broken. No arrest has been made. A case was opened and fingerprints were taken.
