Two families entered the festive season with a deep sense of loss, following two murders that took place over a matter of three days.
The first incident took place on December 16, when a man was stabbed to death at a shebeen in Section 7, Madadeni.
According to Madadeni SAPS spokesperson N. Langa, the deceased had been involved in a physical altercation before he was killed.
Allegedly, the deceased and his friends had confronted another group of men, and had proceeded to chase them away before returning to the shebeen.

The murder suspect was arrested by the Madadeni Crime Prevention Group A, which also managed to recover the murder weapon and a murder docket has been opened.
In the second incident, an argument over money lead one man to murder another.
Police investigations into the matter began when the Madadeni SAPS members responded to an assault call, where the SAPS found a man laying in a pool of blood.
It is alleged the perpetrator had knocked at the victim’s residence door and demanded the money which the victim had taken from the suspect.
Not being satisfied with the victim’s response the suspect then stabbed him in the stomach. The suspect was subsequently arrested.
