Three suspected stock thieves have appeared in court after being nabbed by Upper Tugela police.
Upper Tugela police officers were conducting crime prevention activities on Thursday, January 11, when they spotted two LDVs loaded with sheep and goats. A closer look revealed that the occupants of the two vehicles had no documentation with them for the animals.
The animals are believed to have been transported from across the Lesotho/South African border.

Three suspects – aged 42, 45 and 53 – were arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen stock and contravention of the Animal Diseases Act.
They appeared briefly in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court on Friday, January 12.
