Update: uThukela gives us answers as to why there is no water in certain areas of Ladysmith

The plant is running at full capacity, but the water level is below 50%

According to uThukela, the reason why many areas around Ladysmith have been left without water since this morning (January 26) is that they experienced power failure at the Ezakheni Bulk Water Treatment Plant last night following heavy rainfall.

The water levels have dropped and water quality has deteriorated. The turbidity in the river is high after the heavy storm.

uThukela only managed to repair the dosing pumps at 1pm this afternoon.

For this reason, there is no water or low pressure in Ezakheni and the “old Ladysmith” area.

The plant is currently running at full capacity, but the water level is below 50%.
