Ladysmith Town Clock hasn’t worked in over a year

Only time will tell how long it takes before the clock is ticking smoothly once again

It’s been more than a year now that the Town Clock has not been operational.

Local residents want this historical landmark to be “up and running” so the town doesn’t get a bad name for itself.

However, ironically, only time will tell how long it takes before the clock is ticking smoothly once again.

The Town Clock is stuck at 6.35; am or pm we don’t really know.

People feel that since the Town Clock has such historical significance and takes pride of place at the heart of Ladysmith, it should not be stuck in the past but rather take the town into a bright future where tourism is booming because of all the battlefield attractions it has to offer.

“Time is standing still in more ways than one and it’s really not funny. I hope the municipality catches a wake-up and sorts out this problem as soon as possible,” said one local history lover.

At the time of going to press, the municipality had not commented on this matter.
