A 35-year-old man has been remanded into custody in connection with a double murder that took place in the Kleinfontein area of Besters recently.
It is alleged that someone set fire to a house in the area.
A 59-year-old grandmother and a 10-year-old child died in the resulting inferno.

A 12-year-old sustained critical burn wounds and was hospitalised.
The suspect is due to appear in the Ladysmith Regional Court on Wednesday (January 31).
