Update: Residents left without water, tankers will be sent out to affected areas

Workers are currently removing silt from the plant

Residents of Acaciavale, Ezakheni and Steadville have been without water since the early hours of this morning (January 31).

Deputy Water Services Manager Glen Singh says that the maintenance work has started at the Ezakheni Bulk Water Treatment Plant and everything is going well.

Workers are currently removing silt from the plant and repairing all damage caused by the silt.

Water is expected to return to homes on Friday, February 2.

Glen Singh added that they will be sending water tankers to the affected areas.
